Traditionally, in December, the Pantone Colour Institute names the colour of the coming year. According to the organisation’s experts, it becomes the shade that was most often used during the year in a variety of fields – art, design, fashion, cinema and so on.
Contrary to the expectations of other associations, which also have the desire to appoint their own colour of the year Pantone announced a completely different colour of the year – 2025and it was Mocha Mousse.
Institute of Colour Vice President Laurie Pressman describes it as ‘a soft brown shade that has a sensual and soothing warmth to it. It taps into our desire for comfort and enjoyment of simple pleasures.”
In the shade ‘mocha mousse’ it is easy to see references to the chocolate and coffee theme, as well as the fashion trend for oldmani and quiet luxury. By the way, according to New York Times critic Vanessa Friedman, Mocha Mousse is the first shade of brown to be named colour of the year in the twenty-six-year history of the choice.
Well, we decided to explore whether this colour would fit into our interiors. To tell the truth, it wasn’t difficult: what could be more universal than beige and brown tones?
